Competition
Midweek Ladies
Midweek Ladies is played on Tuesdays from 10am. South Gisborne Tennis Club fields teams against 15 clubs across the Macedon Ranges, including Riddells Creek, Sunbury, Kyneton, Kilmore, and Melton South. It’s a graded competition with teams entered from Section 1 to Section 6, played as a home and away fixture. Teams consist of four players, each playing three eight-game sets. The summer season runs from February to June, and the winter season runs from July to November.
Womens Twilight
Womens Twilight is played on Wednesdays, with games starting at 7.30pm under lights. Teams consist of four players, each playing three doubles sets. Both the summer season (from February) and winter season (from July) run for around 14 weeks, against Woodend, Lancefield, Riddells Creek, and New Gisborne.
Night Comp
Thursday Night Comp is a mixed competition, with games starting at 7.30pm under lights. Teams consist of four mixed players, each playing three doubles sets. It’s a graded competition with teams entered from Section 1 to Section 5. Both the summer season (from February) and winter season (from July) run for around 14 weeks, against Macedon, Kyneton, Lancefield, Gisborne, and Riddells Creek.
Junior Competition
Junior Competition runs across two seasons, summer from October to March and winter from April to August. Matches are played Friday nights from 6pm and Saturday mornings from 9am, in a singles and doubles format:
- A Grade: 1 singles, 2 doubles
- B Grade: 1 singles, 2 doubles
- C Grade: 1 singles, 2 doubles
- D Grade: 3 doubles games
Teams play home and away against clubs across the Macedon Ranges, plus Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Kyneton, Woodend, and Sunbury. Players must be under 18 at the start of each season, and our Junior Co-Ordinator places every player in a suitable team and grade, regardless of ability.
Club Championships
Junior Club Championships are held in March, and Senior Club Championships in November. All financial club members can enter singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, which are graded. It’s a great weekend to come down and watch some exciting tennis. Online entry forms are available closer to each event.
